The Ministry of Justice draws up an annual plan for influencing EU legislation and policies, which deals with current EU affairs and sets priority areas for the Ministry’s efforts to exercise influence within the EU.

The ongoing negotiations on EU legislation are included in the Ministry's list of legislative projects. Key projects at the moment include:
- Proposals for directives of the European Parliament and of the Council on contracts for the supply of digital content and on contracts for the online and other distance sales of goods
- Reform of the EU data protection legislation
- Establishment of a European Public Prosecutor's Office
- Directive on equal treatment
- Insolvency Directive
