Learn about the Transparency Register Act – information available
The new Transparency Register Act obligates lobbyists to provide information on lobbying targeted at Parliament and ministries to the Transparency Register from the beginning of next year. The National Audit Office of Finland is the controller of the Transparency Register and it will monitor compliance with the obligation to provide information to the Register.
Results of parliamentary elections available online on 2 April starting at 20.00
Preliminary results of the parliamentary elections to be conducted on Sunday 2 April will be published online in the Result Service of the Ministry of Justice starting at 20.00 on election day.
Parliamentary elections on Sunday 2 April 2023
Finland’s parliamentary elections will be held on 2 April 2023. In the elections, Finnish citizens entitled to vote will elect 200 Members of Parliament for a four-year electoral term.
Revised legislation on sexual offences enters into force at the beginning of next year
The amended provisions on sexual offences in the Criminal Code will enter into force on 1 January 2023. The reform aims to strengthen everyone’s right to sexual self-determination and the protection of personal integrity.

The Ministry of Justice is responsible for drafting the Criminal Code and the legislation concerning the enforcement of punishments. Punishments are at the core of the criminal sanctions system.
