Learn about the Transparency Register Act – information available

The new Transparency Register Act obligates lobbyists to provide information on lobbying targeted at Parliament and ministries to the Transparency Register from the beginning of next year. The National Audit Office of Finland is the controller of the Transparency Register and it will monitor compliance with the obligation to provide information to the Register.

The Ministry of Justice is responsible for monitoring and developing the legislation governing the Transparency Register. Before the Act enters into force, the Ministry of Justice also supports the implementation of the Act.

A guide containing a general description of the Transparency Register, its key concepts and the related procedures and actors has been published. The guide provides answers to questions such as who are subject to the obligation to provide information to the Transparency Register, what kind of information must be provided to the Register and when, and how the Transparency Register is monitored.

The Transparency Register guide is intended for lobbyists, targets of lobbying activities and others interested in the topic.  The guide is available in Finnish, Swedish and English.  

Welcome to hear about the Transparency Register

The Ministry of Justice and the National Audit Office of Finland will organise an event in which lobbyists and anyone interested in the topic will be provided with information on the Transparency Register Act and on the introduction of the Register and answers to questions concerning the topic. 

Introduction to the Transparency Register

Time: Tuesday 25 April 2023 at 9.00–12.00, online broadcast starts at 9.30
Venue: National Audit Office of Finland, Auditorium, Porkkalankatu 1, Helsinki or online broadcast, which will also be published later as a recording.
