NO ONE IS BORN TO HATE – dialogues between young people on racism and discrimination

Launch event of a summary report on 21 December 2023

In September 2023, the Advisory Board for Ethnic Relations organised a series of dialogue events where young people and adults discussed the racism and harassment experienced by young people and the impacts of racism on young people’s lives. Sixteen events were organised in different locations around Finland, and half of the participants (143 in total) were young people and half of them were adults. 

A report summarising the dialogues and presenting recommendations for measures was published at a launch event on 21 December. The report is based on recordings of the discussions.

Young people's thoughts on and experiences of racism and the best ways to tackle it were heard at the launch event. The event highlighted the impacts of racism on the future of young people and, more broadly, on Finnish society. The recommendations for measures presented in the report encourage all organisations, communities and individuals to intervene in racism. 

The event will not be recorded. The main language of the event is Finnish.
