Ministry of Justice at Europe Forum: Future of democracy and the rule of law in Europe
What does the future of democracy and the rule of law look like in today’s Europe? How is democracy being developed in Finland and elsewhere in Europe? These questions will be on the agenda of a panel discussion organised by the Ministry of Justice at the Europe Forum in Turku on 25 August at 13.00–13.45.
The panellists are Sixten Korkman, Professor Emeritus of Economics, Heidi Hautala, Member of the European Parliament, Allan Rosas, Judge at the Court of Justice of the European Union 2002–2019, and Leif Hagert, Chair of the Finnish Roma Association and the Roma Youth Council. The discussion will be moderated by Director General Johanna Suurpää from the Ministry of Justice.
The Ministry of Justice serves as the national contact point for the EU’s Citizenship, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme. A brief presentation of the CERV programme will be given at the end of the panel discussion.
The event will be available as a live webcast, and simultaneous interpretation into English will be provided.
