Press release -

The aim of the Committee's proposal is to increase the transparency of party funding in order to prevent the development of ties to any third parties and to control inappropriate funding. Although increasing transparency is the primary means to achieve this aim, the proposal also includes such limitations that the Committee considers essential in guaranteeing a due course of funding.

By executing these proposals, the recommendations given to Finland by GRECO (Group of States against Corruption) on the transparency of election funding will be implemented.

The actual report of the Committee will be completed and released in November.
