The Advisory Board for Ethnic Relations (Etno) serves as a national forum for dialogue. The Board brings together migration experts from national, regional and local levels ranging from public officials to civil society representatives.
Besides the national Advisory Board, there are seven regional advisory boards for ethnic relations.

Goals and results
Provisions on the purpose, tasks and composition of the Advisory Board for Ethnic Relations are laid down in the Government Decree 771/2015 (available in Finnish)
Starting points
The term 2016–2020 of the Advisory Board for Ethnic Relations ended on 10 February 2020. After that, an open call for organisations to become members of the national Advisory Board or the seven regional advisory boards was organised. The centres for economic development, transport and the environment appointed the seven regional advisory boards in September 2020. The Government will appoint the national Advisory Board for the next term in November 2020.
