Natalia Ollus appointed as Director of the European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control (HEUNI)

The Government has appointed Doctor of Laws and Master of Social Sciences Natalia Ollus as Director of the European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control, affiliated with the United Nations (HEUNI) as of the beginning of 2018. The Director’s term of office is three years.

Natalia Ollus has acted as the Deputy Director of HEUNI since September 2016. Earlier, she has worked as Senior Researcher at HEUNI and as Senior Specialist for example at the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the Permanent Mission of Finland to the UN.  

HEUNI, based in Helsinki, assists the UN in the implementation of criminal policy decisions and recommendations. The Institute was founded by an agreement between Finland and the UN in 1981, and it functions under the auspices of the Finnish Ministry of Justice.
